My name is Bob Yant and in 1981 I had a diving accident in the ocean which left me a C5 quadriplegic.
Over the past 40+ years I have been heavily involved in spinal cord injury research. I have worked extensively with the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation along with several other organizations.
During my life living with a spinal cord injury, I have had access to the best doctors, physical therapists and researchers in the field. Despite this, I continually had to deal with debilitating pressure sores that put a halt on my daily activities and my work.
Several years ago, I feared a future of being bedridden with pressure sores. Following advice from therapists and salespeople and others, I had tried 16 different cushions, some costing thousands of dollars, but my pressure sore problem was not solved.
It was by chance that I heard about Rancho Los Amigos Rehabilitation Center. She custom cut my first foam cut out cushion. I have never had a pressure sore problem since. I also learned that many other people who use wheelchairs were able to resolve their pressure sore issues with her help.
The custom cut cushion was so superior to ANY cushion I'd ever used that I realized I had to do my part to help others benefit from this cushion. I am not making any money from this effort.
I teamed up with some close friends and created this website, which is intended to help others get their own foam cut out cushions so they can also lead lives without fear of developing debilitating pressure sores.
